Install Webmin and linuxwebmin on a Linux Server

1. log on to the server

2. Create a folder to save webmin. We recommend that you create a folder under your account .,

3. Download The Webmin Installation File,

Command is: wget http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/webadmin/webmin-1.670.tar.gz

You can download it from the official website. I like to use the wget command to download it.

4. Extract the file with the command tar-zxvf webmin-1.670.tar.gz

5. Go to the webmin extract directory and run setup. sh. The command is./setup. sh.

6. You can press enter to complete the installation. At last, you need to set the user name and password. The default user name is admin and can be modified by yourself, the password below must be a password that is easy to remember.

The procedure is as follows:

Config file directory [/etc/webmin]: Press ENTER // press enter to select the default installation path,

You can also go to another path and then press the Enter key.

Log file directory [/var/webmin]: Press ENTER // same as above, indicating the Log folder storage path

Web server port (default 10000): Enter // specify the Web access port. The default port is 10000.

Login name (default admin): // enter the logon user name here. The default value is "admin"

Login password: enter the password

Password again: enter the Password again

Start Webmin at boot time (y/n): Enter "y"

7. After you see the prompt that the installation is complete,

Enter http: // ip: 10000 or http: // localhost: 10000/in the browser /,

Press enter. If you see a login interface, it means that webmin has been installed successfully. This indicates that Webmin installed in Linux can work normally.

Enter the user name and password correctly (by default, only the root account can log on) to manage the system.

8. The installation is in English. After logging on to the webmin system,

Choose Webmin> Webmin Configuration> Language, and select Simplified Chinese (ZH_CN) in the Display in Language field ),

Then, click "Change Language" to enter the webmin system again, and Chinese characters will be displayed.
