Because of work, sometimes two computers are needed to work, and most people engaged in development are those pursuing computer performance, so the laptop is naturally not light, not to mention the two.
I have been suffering from two computers for more than half a year, and finally made up my mind to install a system into a mobile SSD, carrying a non-hard drive computer and adding two mobile SSDS to reduce the burden.
After one day's exploration, many methods on the Internet fail, mainly because
1. SATA operating mode AHCI and compatibility problems
2. Board incompatibility issues
3. Windows automatically restores the Registry when the USB driver is started and loaded.
4. Fixed-state disk alignment
5. incompatible with USB3.0
Finally, install Windows 7 to the mobile SSD by integrating the various directors. The steps are as follows:
Prepare a USB flash drive for maintenance and install the ISO file for Windows 7. Do not start it with a mobile hard drive until step 2. c. Otherwise, a blue screen may appear.
1. Install Windows to SSD
A) installation disk preparation, production with U disk system maintenance tools (such as Tian Yi U disk Maintenance System 2013), etc., see the http://www.winpe.cc/
B) Partition. After making the partition, use the maintenance USB flash drive to start WinPE and run DiskGenius to partition the mobile hard disk. If the hard disk is a common hard disk, partition it as needed,
4 K alignment is required for solid state disks, as shown in figure: (some people on the Internet say the number of sectors is 2048)
My solid state hard disk partition is:
100 MB volume label for the first primary partition: retained by the system, set as active partition, and start Partition
The second primary partition is 78 GB.
The third primary partition is 500 GB, which is used to install the vmwarevm.
The fourth primary partition is 120 GB, which is used to store data files.
A maximum of four primary partitions can be created. If more than four partitions are required, create an extended partition and add it to the extended partition ..
B) install Windows, the tool is "NT6.X fast installer 100227", address: http://bbs.wuyou.com/forum.php? Mod = viewthread & tid = 143569.
After you expand the ISO file of Win7 or mount it to the virtual optical drive, open it with the quick installer. Note that the boot partition and the installation partition are different. If it is a common hard disk, you can set the same, I am a solid state disk, so the boot partition is a MB partition, and the installation partition is a GB partition.
2. Preparations
A) install the IAR driver, after installing Windows to mobile hard drive, do not worry with mobile hard drive boot, first to the http://bbs.itiankong.com/forum-320-1.html to download the current version of SkyIAR v2.57, copy to the mobile hard drive decompress the backup
Start WinPE with the maintenance USB flash drive, run the downloaded SkyIAR file, select Custom installation and select all drivers, set the installation partition and the Windows version, and install it.
B) import the following registry file to the system you just installed using the "offline analysis hard disk Windows" tool in WinPE that is started with the USB flash drive with maintenance: (copy the following content and save the file with the extension reg)
This reg file allows all hard drive-related drivers to be loaded upon startup, so that mobile hard drive Win7 can be started on different hardware platforms.
My computer is the Thinkpad W series. The following is made for the USB driver of the Local Machine. If you need to support other USB hardware, you need to add the corresponding switch item.
Windows Registry Editor Version [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ ControlSet001 \ services \ usbccgp] "Start" = dword :; parameters required for USB boot
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control]
"BootDriverFlags" = dword: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ PnP]
"PollBootPartitionTimeout" =
; AHCI mode required by SATA
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ ControlSet001 \ services \ msahci]
"Start" = dword:
; Thinkpad W520 supports USB3.0 items
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ ControlSet001 \ services \ nusb3hub]
"Start" = dword: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ ControlSet001 \ services \ nusb3xhc]
"Start" = dword:
; Supports other computer items [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ ControlSet001 \ services \ USBXHCI]
"Start" = dword:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ ControlSet001 \ services \ USBHUB3]
"Start" = dword: = dword: = dword: = dword:
C) edit the mobile hard drive system directory \ windows \ system32 \ UsbBootwatcher. conf and change the content:
================"Boot Bus Extender"
D) enter the Bios, change the Sata Ahci mode to the compatible mode, set UEFI/Legacy Boot to Legacy First, and set the USB hard disk to start preferentially (or press F12 to select the mobile hard disk when restarting ),.
3. Installation Finishing
A) after the mobile hard drive is automatically installed on the system, the driver, such as the video card and network card, will be shut down.
B) start with the maintenance USB flash drive, and then perform Step 2. B (import reg)
C) enter the Bios and change sata to the ahci mode. Start with a mobile hard disk, modify the reg file based on the computer's hardware conditions, and add USB to support startup.
D) Solid State mobile hard drive version Win7 is installed.
4. Install the application software.
5. Start with this mobile hard drive on another computer:
A) If you can use this hard disk to enter the desktop, run the following command immediately:
C:\Windows\System32\sysprep\sysprep.exe /oobe /generalize /shutdown
Restart later
B) if it is not on the desktop, run the above command on the original Computer, shut down, and switch to another machine for startup.
C) if a blue screen appears, perform Step 2. B.
