Today, UBUNTU 13.04 is installed in the notebook.
I used to use Windows and Ubuntu again. The most obvious feeling is that the Ubuntu font looks better.
There are a bunch of online tutorials on Ubuntu dual-system hard disk installation, but a lot of content is outdated, and some key steps are not clearly explained. I will sort out the installation process here today:
1. Installation background
Windows 7 is installed in the notebook, UBUNTU 13.04 is ready to be installed, and the hard disk is empty with a 50 GB partition.
Ii. Installation Process
1. Reserved blank partitions
Start Program-> right-click computer, and choose manage-> Find a 100% blank partition in your partition list-> right-click Delete volume ',
I have an edisk empty for Ubuntu installation. You cannot see it here.
2. Use easybcd to load the ISO of the Ubuntu System
For all the steps here, refer to the two Tutorials:
Basic Ubuntu installation tutorial
Ubuntu
11.04 tutorial on Dual-system installation with lossless hard drive in win7
3. Create a partition
This is the most confusing place, because the manual partition interface I encountered when installing Ubuntu 12 or Ubuntu 13.04 is different from all the tutorials on the Internet. It is estimated that these tutorials are outdated.
As there are no tutorials for reference, you can only find out for yourself:
After some searches, we decided to divide Ubuntu into three zones:
/10g
/Swap 512 m
/Home uses the remaining capacity by default.
On this page, you can see the blank partitions reserved at the beginning. The white column section in the figure is:
Click 'add '.
Or + button
A./partition
The partition capacity is about 10 Gb. Select 'logical partition' and then select the 'reiserfs' File System (which is recommended by everyone, so I chose this one and I don't understand it ), 'mount point' select '/'
B./swap
Enter MB or greater in size. Select 'SWAp partition' in the log file system drop-down box.
C./home
Partition capacity: use the remaining capacity of the blank partition. Select the 'reiserfs' file system and click '/home' for mounting'
After completing the settings, you can proceed to the next step to officially start installing the Ubuntu system.

Use easybcd to install Ubuntu on a hard disk in win7/8 and return to the directory. Next lesson
Easybcd allows you to easily edit the Startup menu items of win7 and Win8. Be careful when performing the operations. Let's take a look at the exercises below;
Download Ubuntu Desktop CD image ISO files such as ubuntu-12.10-desktop-i386.iso: http://mirrors.163.com/ubuntu-releases/12.10/
For other information, see the previous course;
1. Download and install easybcd
1) The easybcd Personal Edition is free of charge. You can download it at http://www.onlinedown.net/soft/58174.htm,
In the displayed installation dialog box, click "Next-I agree-next-install-finish"
2) Wait a moment to run easybcd. Then, double-click it on the desktop. In the first step, select "simplified Chinese" and click "go" to continue;
Click "OK" to continue with the subsequent copyright notice;
3) in the left column of the program window, click "Add new entry ";
4) then a panel is displayed on the right, click the "neogrub" tab on the rightmost side, and click the "Install" button under it;

Root (hd0, 0)
Kernel/vmlinuz boot = Casper iso-Scan/filename =/ubuntu-12.10-desktop-i386.iso quiet splash Ro locale = zh_CN.UTF-8 noprompt --
Initrd/initrd. LZ
If the system has MB of reserved partitions, change the second sentence to (hd0, 1). For details about how to check the partition, refer to the red file name in basic 1 course and the third sentence, you also need to change it to the image file name you downloaded;
7) save the file, close notepad, and then close easybcd;
2. Copy the Startup File
1) copy the downloaded Ubuntu image file to the C: disk and open it with 7-Zip or WinRAR;
2) double-click the Casper folder to open it. There is a file starting with I and V;
3) Open C: disk, and drag initrd. LZ and vmlinuz in Casper to the C: disk. Then there are three copied files in the C: disk;

5) double-click the "Install Ubuntu" icon in the upper-left corner of the desktop to enter the installation dialog box;
6) in the "installation type" step, select "Other Options" and click continue;
7) When partitioning this step, if you do not change the location of the pilot below, UBUNTU will guide windows, which is relatively simple and does not require step 1,
Click the drop-down list below to install the Boot Tool to the partition where Ubuntu is located, and then add the boot item to win7 in step 2, so that the MBR of win7 is not changed, use win7 to guide Ubuntu;
8) after the installation is complete, restart the computer. When the grub boot menu is displayed, press the arrow key to go to Windows 7 and delete the Ubuntu image files and initrd. LZ and vmlinuz in the C: disk;
9) Start easybcd, click "add a project-neogrub", and click "delete" under the panel ";
4. win7 boot dual-system Ubuntu
1) if you install the boot loader in the partition where Ubuntu is located, you need to add the startup Item of ubuntu in easybcd;
2) Start easybcd, click "add a project-neogrub", click "configuration" under the panel, delete the original content, and paste the following content into the notepad;
Title Ubuntu/Linux 12.10
Find -- Set-root/boot/GRUB/i386-pc/CORE. img
Kernel/boot/GRUB/i386-pc/CORE. img
Boot
If/boot is partitioned separately, use the following:

Boot
/Boot partition and paste the following
Title Ubuntu/Linux 12.04
Find -- Set-root/GRUB/CORE. img
Kernel/GRUB/CORE. img
Boot
