Install VC ++ 6.0 Common Errors

Symptom

When you run the Visual Studio 6.0 installer, you may receive the following error message:

The installer cannot create a DCOM user account to register <path>/valec.exe

This first error message may be followed by two messages, indicating that the installation program failed.

Cause

Visualstudioanalyzer, Which is Visual Studio 6.0 and contains one of the products in enterpriseedition, cannot create a local user account. It needs to run to the user security policy for Windows 2000 due to changes.

Solution

Reinstall Visual Studio 6.0 without Visual Studio analyzer enterpriseedition: 1. Use custom installation, on the Visual Studio 6.0 enterprise-custom page, Enterprise Tools, and change options in sequence.

2. on the Visual Studio 6.0 enterprise-Enterprise Tools page, select and check the Visual Studio analyzer check box.
