Abstract: GAMIT/GLOBK is a set of high-precision GPS data processing and analysis software installed in Unix/Linux operating systems. It builds a system platform with Ubuntu12.04 desktop edition. With the support of the network, install the latest version of GAMIT/GLOBK10.50 and run GAMIT to check whether the installation is successful.
GAMIT/GLOBK is a high-precision GPS data processing software jointly developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Scripps Institute of Marine Research, and Harvard University. It is mainly used to analyze and study the deformation of the earth's crust, and high-precision GPS data processing. This software is the world's most widely used GPS data analysis software in parallel with Bernesee. The latest version is 10.50. GAMIT/GLOBK is a software developed based on Unix/Linux operating systems and has executable packages for operating systems such as SUN, HP, and Digital. There are more than three hundred Linux distributions in the world. Popular ones include Fedora Core, Ubuntu, SUSE, and Debian. Ubuntu is a Linux Release Developed Based On Debian GNU. It has the advantages of open source, free of charge, simple and fast installation, user-friendly interface, easy to use, and fast update. Currently, the latest version is 15.10.
1. System Requirements
System requirements refer to all the System Configuration requirements required to ensure that GAMIT/GLOBK can be properly installed and used, including software and hardware. The Ubuntu12.04 operating system is selected, and the system supports almost all current hardware platforms. Therefore, the hardware requirements have been met, and the software requirements are the compilation environment required for configuration of GAMIT installation. Therefore, the following program is required:
1.1 gfortran Compiler
Gfortran is the GNU Fortran compiler in GCC. The designers of GAMIT/GLOBK recommend that you use the gfortran compiler. This compiler is also the default compiler for script installation.
1.2libxll-dev package
This package contains all the basic functions of the X11 application programming interface. Among them, libxll. a and Xlib. h are two library files that GAMIT/GLOBK depends on, mainly providing library support for them.
1.3csh/tcsh
GAMIT/GLOBK commands must be interpreted by csh or tcsh. Tcsh is an enhanced version of csh and fully compatible with csh. It not only has all csh functions, but also supports command line editing, spelling correction, programmable character set, historical records, and job control, and the syntax structure of the C language style. We recommend that you use tcsh.
1.4FTP Software
The precise calendars, and the observation files of the IMG framework station that need to be downloaded during GAMIT computing for data transmission.
1.5GMT Software
GMT is a software developed by the University of Hawaii for map creation. It contains global map data such as coastline, border, and river. The GAMIT/GLOBK shell script calls the graph file that generates the processing result in GMT.
1.6TEQC Software
TEQC is a GPS data preprocessing software developed by UNAVCO Facility in the United States. Its functions include format conversion, editing, and quality check of GPS data. TEQC can be downloaded from the UNAVCO Facility official website for free.
2 Ubuntu installation and configuration
Ubuntu12.04 can be downloaded from its official website for free. It can be installed on VMWare, a virtual machine, or GAMIT/GLOBK10.50, a dual system with windows, which can be installed under the Root account. By default, Ubuntu 12.04 does not allow root logon. Only common users and visitors can log on to Ubuntu In the logon window. We need to make some modifications. After a common user logs on, the system configuration file needs to be changed to the superuser mode. In the terminal window, enter sudo-s. enter the login password of a common user and press enter to enter the root user permission mode. Run the following command:
Vi/etc/lightdm. conf.
Change the configuration file to the following content: [SeatDefaults] greeter-session = unity-greeteruser-session = effectugreeter-show-manual-login = true
Allow-guest = false
Then run the wq command to save the exit file and start the root account: Enter the root account password as prompted. The "login" option will be available in the "restart Ubuntu Logon" window. At this time, we can log on through the root account.
After the root login is complete, run the following command on the terminal to install and configure each Support Program:
Sudo apt-get install gfortran # install the gfortran compiler and all its dependent software packages;
Sudo apt-get install libx11-dev # install the libx11-dev package and all the dependent software packages; sudo apt-get install csh # install csh
Sudo apt-get install tcsh # install tcsh
Sudo apt-get install gmt # install gmt and related software packages
Currently, TEQC cannot be installed using commands. You can download an appropriate version from its official website and decompress it to a system directory such as/bin.
When you install each software package, the system will install and configure other software packages necessary for this software package, and perform necessary upgrades for local software packages, we recommend that you install some non-essential software packages. You only need to install it as required.
Installation of 4GAMIT
After the system is configured, you can install GAMIT/GLOBK. First apply to http://www.gpsg.mit.edu
GAMIT. After the review is completed, the responsible person will send the ID and password to the specified reserved email address, and then download and install the source program through the specified FTP address. The GAMIT/GLOBK software update message will be sent to the user in the form of a mail list, download the update source program to the specified FTP. As the software is constantly updated, the downloaded software package may be different.
First, copy the software folder to the installation directory. This document is installed in the gamit10.50 folder on the desktop by default. Enter at the terminal:
Cd/home/wxl_ubuntu/desktop/gamit10.50 # enter the installation directory, that is, the gamit10.50 file on the desktop. Enter chmod + x on the terminal and drag the install_software file in the gamit10.50 folder. Enter./install_software on the terminal and the following prompt will appear on the terminal:
GAMIT and GLOBK to be installed into/Desktop/gamit10.35
If you need help with command line define topions type CTL_C now and type
Install_software-help on the command line
The compressed tarfiles will be removed after extraction of
Directories, but should t for that, the script may be stopped and
Rerun safely from any point. Tarfiles to be uncompressedy:
