Ubuntu has been using its own Unity since 11.04. I understand that it is a shell made by QT on GNOME. In system 11.10, unity was further optimized. People who like it think they are very good. However, I think that it is not quite popular with GNOME's simplicity. Just in time to catch up with the National Day holiday, we just gave Unity.
Installing GNOME3 in 11.10 is still very simple. From the official GNOME website in the browser, you can find the download link. After clicking it, the ubuntu Software Center will pop up, the following is to wait quietly for the installation. files around MB need to be downloaded. The time depends on your network speed.
After installation, you can use the following command to install gnome-tweak-tool to adjust gnome:
Sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool
OK. If everything goes well, log out and log on again. Remember to select GNOME during logon :)
:( Why is the sidebar still there ?? Dizzy !!!!!!!! Go directly to the Software Center and search for unity to get rid of all the items found ~~~~~~~~~~~ Log on again ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Finally OK.
