When installing VMware Tools, if you are prompted that you do not have permissions, you need to use the CHMOD 777 file name to add permissions, such as prompting that the vmware-install.pl has no permissions, then use the following command:

Below is my fc9 installation demo, my kernel version is 2.6.25-14. fc9.i686, so select kernel-devel-2.6.25-14.fc9.i686.rpm when wget.
You need to check your kernel version and select the correct Kernel on the above URL.

After the kernel is installed, use this command to determine the installation directory of the kernel C header.
