Installation, available with PPA, supports almost all ubuntu versions of the system, open the terminal, enter the following command:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sandromani/gimagereader
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gimagereader tesseract-ocr tesseract-ocr-eng
Run the following command to uninstall gImagereader:
sudo apt-get remove gimagereader
Remove PPA:
sudo apt-get install ppa-purge
sudo ppa-purge ppa:sandromani/gimagereader
