Install Oracle 10gR2 on Solaris 10

Install Oracle 10gR2 on Solaris 10.

1. Create a user, group, and oracle directory
 
Log on as the root user and create a directory:
 
Mkdir-p/opt/app/oracle
 
Mkdir-p/opt/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db
 
Create an oracle group and user and assign users and permissions to the directory:
 
/Usr/sbin/groupadd-g 301 dba
 
/Usr/sbin/groupadd-g 300 oinstall
 
Useradd-u 250-c "oracle user"-d/opt/app/oracle-g oinstall-G dba-m-s/bin/ksh oracle
 
Chown-R oracle: dba/opt/app/oracle
 
Chmod-R 775/opt/app/oracle
 
2. Set oracle user environment variables
 
Log on with an oracle user and set Environment Variables
 
Vi ~ /. Profile
 
 
 
Add the following variables:
 
Umask 022
 
 
 
If [-t 0]; then
 
Stty intr ^ C
 
Fi
 
MAIL =/usr/mail/$ {LOGNAME :?}
 
Export PS1 = 'hostname': $ logname' $'
 
Export TERM = vt100
 
Stty erase ^?
 
Set-o vi
 
Export DISPLAY = 192.168.1.72: 0.0
 
Export ORACLE_SID = orcl
 
Export ORACLE_BASE =/export/home/app/oracle
 
Export ORACLE_HOME =$ {ORACLE_BASE}/product/10.2.0/db_1
 
Export ORACLE_ADMIN =$ {ORACLE_BASE}/admin
 
Export TNS_ADMIN =$ {ORACLE_HOME}/network/admin
 
Export LD_LIBRARY_PATH =$ {ORACLE_HOME}/lib
 
Export PATH =$ {ORACLE_HOME}/bin:/usr/bin:/etc:/usr/openwin/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin: $ {PATH }:.
 
Then exit and log on to the user again to make the environment variables work.
 
3. Check the installation package required for solaris
 
Check whether all the packages required by solaris10 have been installed:
 
Pkginfo-I SUNWarc SUNWbtool SUNWhea SUNWlibm SUNWlibms SUNWsprot \
 
SUNWsprox SUNWtoo SUNWi1of SUNWi1cs SUNWi15cs SUNWxwfnt
