1. Download necessary installation packages

1. gdbm-1.8.3-5.aix5.2.ppc.rpm

Ii. Installation Steps

1. Use the root user to log on to the AIX host

2. Upload the downloaded installation package to any directory on the host.

3. Enter the Directory and gradually execute the following command for Installation

• • Rpm-ivh gdbm-1.8.3-5.aix5.2.ppc.rpm
  • Rpm-ivh readline-6.1-2.aix6.1.ppc.rpm
  • Rpm-ivh expat-2.0.1-2.aix5.3.ppc.rpm
  • Rpm-ivh python-2.7.5-1.aix6.1.ppc.rpm

4. After the installation is complete, run the following command and obtain the following output to verify the installation result.

Root @ MPSAPP01:/> python

Python 2.7.5 (default, Aug 16 2013, 14:02:06) [C] on aix6
