Install SQL Server reporting services in Windows 7

  • Windows Vista Enterprise Edition, Ultimate Edition, or business edition must be used.
  • You can install any of the following SQL Server 2005 versions: Developer Edition, Standard Edition, workgroup edition, evaluation edition, or express edition with advanced services. Windows Vista does not support Enterprise Edition.
  • You must install Application Service Pack 2 (SP2) for reporting services ). For most versions, you must first install the original product version and then upgrade it to SP2. If you are using express edition with advanced services, you can run the installation of SP2 that has been applied.Program. For more information, see Microsoft SQL Server 2005 express Edition Service Pack 2 with advanced services on the Microsoft website.
  • You must enable ASP. NET and IIS before installing reporting services. To enable these functions, perform the following operations:
    1. Click Start ".
    2. Click"Control Panel".
    3. Click"Program".
    4. Click"Programs and functions"And then click"Turn on or off Windows". Wait for the display function list.
    5. Open "Internet information service ".
    6. In Web management tools, enable the following features:
      IIS 6 WMI compatibility
      Configure compatibility between IIS metabase and IIS 6
    7. In "Application Development" in "World Wide Web service", enable the following features:
      ASP. NET
      ISAPI extension
      ISAPI filter
    8. In common HTTP functions, enable the following functions:
      Default document
      Directory Browsing
      HTTP Error
      HTTP redirection
      Static content
    9. In "security", enable the following features:
      Windows Authentication

If any of the above features is not enabled, the installer will exclude reporting services from the function selection page.

After the required features are enabled, you must start the Web Publishing Service to install the default configuration of reporting services. Otherwise, you must install reporting services in file-only mode and configure the Report Server after the SQL Server Installation program is complete.
