Install the Apple mac OS X Lion System in VMware Workstation 8.0.1

Preface

 

 

As IT professionals, especially Help Desk, we often need to support Apple systems, such as how the Apple system configures the company's Exchange mailbox and how to use OC/Lync; sometimes I want to know something about this system out of curiosity and knowledge. However, due to restrictions, it is impossible for the company to provide engineers with computers installed with Apple systems, so we can use VMware Workstation's powerful virtual platform to help ourselves.

 

 

Preparations

Before the official start, make sure that the following conditions are met:

1.The computer CPU is Intel Series
(Note: AMD series CPUs are not covered in this article)

2.CPU needs supportHardware VirtualizationAnd64-bitTechnology. You can use the"CPU virtualization detection tool"Check whether these two points are supported. 1.
(Note: currently, all mainstream CPUs Support Hardware virtualization. However, by default, many motherboard vendors do not enable this function. You need to enable it in BIOS settings, how to enable it is not covered in this article)

3.Install the latest version of VMware Workstation software. For example, this article selects version 8.0.1.
(Note: although the latest version is not required, the latest version must be the most compatible and can avoid many unknown problems)

4.Prepare the ISO image of mac OS X Lion, the ISO CD image of the HJMac third-party system boot tool, and the ISO CD image of the driver package Darwin.

Configure VMware Workstation

1.Open VMware workstation 8.0.1 andCustomCreate a virtual machine. 2.


(Note: Do not select "standard" mode to create a VM. Otherwise, you cannot customize the VM in subsequent operations)

2."Hardware compatibility"Select the latest"Work Station 8.0". 3.

3.Browse the ISO installation image file of mac OS X Lion. 4.

4."Client Operating System"Select"Others","FreeBSD 64-bit". 5.


(Note: mac OS X is essentially a FreeBSD system, and Linux is also originated from the BSD system)

5.Name the Virtual Machine and select the path to save the Virtual Machine file. 6.

6.Select the number of processors and cores. If conditions permit, the higher the running speed, the better. 7.

7.Allocate memory to virtual machines. Ensure that at least Gbps is allocated. If conditions permit, the higher the running speed, the better. 8.

37.What should I do if I cannot guide it? Give up? Of course not! Fortunately, some people helped us to boot the boot disk and use "HJMac. iso" in the attachment toolkit to reboot the system. 40.

Install driver
