In our work, we often need to query the meanings of some English words. For friends like me who are engaged in computer-related industries, we have been using a youdao dictionary in windows. google translation has no desktop version. After switching to Ubuntu this time, it took a long time to install the dictionary. Linux does not lack dictionary software, but lacks the dictionary. All dictionary software needs to be downloaded and installed by yourself, therefore, finding a dictionary is a troublesome task.
1. Search for the stardict installation dictionary in the Ubuntu Software Center (You can also search for the stardict installation dictionary)
2. Find the installed stardict in the attachment under the application.
3. Download the dictionary from the http://abloz.com/huzheng/stardict-dic/zh_CN. (The website has been unavailable for a long time)
4. Run the terminal. First, CD to the downloaded folder. Then the sudo tar-xjvf stardict-oxford-gb-2.4.2.tar.bz2 is unzipped
Then sudo MV stardict-oxford-gb-2.4.2/usr/share/stardict/DIC/move the decompressed folder to the/usr/share/stardict/DIC/folder,
This is your/usr/share/which may not contain the stardict/DIC/directory. Go to/usr/share/to create it.
:~ $ CD/usr/share/
:/Usr/share $ sudo mkdir stardict
:/Usr/share $ CD stardict/
:/Usr/share/stardict $ sudo mkdir DIC
(I have installed the Oxford modern English-Chinese dictionary)
5. You can see the added dictionary in dictionary management in stardict.
Then we can query the words on the starship translation king.
