Install the Linux atigraphics card driver and Support Hardware 3D acceleration-Linux Release Technology-Debian information. For more information, see the following. I remember that in last December, I scolded ATI for its support for Linux. However, it seems that ATI has much better support for Linux now-or I have experience. In any case, even if I reinstall the system, it takes five minutes to install the ATI9550 Linux driver.

Installing the atidriver requires some Development kits and library packages, but I think these packages are basic configurations, so they do not look complicated. If you do not have these packages in the current system, you should install them and use them more conveniently in the future.

Some packages you may not have installed here: gcc3.x, g ++ 3.x, make, libx11-dev, libstdc ++, libstdc ++ x. x-dev, x-dev, binutils, autoconf, automake. note that if you run gcc -- v to display versions not 3.x, create a link: ln/usr/bin/gcc-3.x/usr/bin/gcc.

Some of them are indeed 'x', and some are 0-9 digits.

Run uname-a and you will see

Linux debian 2.6.16-1-k7 #2 Tue Apr 25 20:52:06 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux

Okay, run apt-get install kernel-headers-2.6.16-1-k7 to install the kernel header file.

Download the driver installation package from the ATI official website, I downloaded the ati-driver-installer-8.22.5-i386.run ~ /Download directory. Double-click or run from Terminal ~ /Download/ati-driver-installer-8.22.5-i386.run (go to The ATI official website to download the latest installer) to run the installer. Press enter.

View the/usr/share/fglrx/fglrx-install.log after the installation is complete, if you do not see the word "error" or other instructions that the installation fails, and see

AGPGART build succeeded with return value 0
Finished compiling for fglrx_agp
Duplicating results into driver repository...
Done.
====================================
-Creating symlink
-Recreating module dependency list
-Trying a sample load of the kernel modules
Done.

Installed successfully! You may need to restart. Running glxgears output is similar

11979 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2395.666 FPS

If it is more than 1500 FPS, congratulations, you have installed the driver of ATI graphics card in Linux.
