Install the Nvidia graphics card driver on the Linux operating system of the Ubuntu branch, and use tunvidia
For a long time, it has been difficult to adapt drivers to Linux branch systems, and there are not many fully compatible drivers. For Nvidia graphics cards, although Linux branch operating systems provide N-card open-source driver engineering Nouveau, the performance still needs to be improved. The following describes how to manually install the graphics driver on the vodda official website.
Step 1:
Download the graphics card driver of the corresponding model from the mongoda driver webpage: http://www.geforce.cn/drivers. the downloaded file is generally a. runsuffix file. After the download is completed, it will be placed in the non-Chinese directory. Why should it be placed in the non-Chinese directory? It will be explained later.
Step 2:
Press ctrl + alt + f1 to enter the character interface, enter the Logon account and password, and start the command interface operation. Run the following command to disable the currently in use graphical interface to conveniently update the graphics card driver.
sudo /etc/init.d/lightgdm stop
Step 3:
Cd to enter the. run Suffix of the graphics card driver directory, the reason is placed in the English directory, because the Chinese characters in the character interface will be garbled, it is not convenient to find a Chinese directory.
Find the. run file and run the command to start the video card installer.
sudo sh xx.run
Step 4:
All the way to next + OK, the system prompts that there is only the Nouveau configuration file, you need to disable it and configure the nvidia graphics card configuration to select whether or not by default. I would like to thank mongoda for paying more attention to Linux. In the past, we had to manually disable the Nouveau driver, and there was a lot of configuration. If the configuration was wrong, we could not enter the graphic interface. After the mongoda configuration is complete, enter the following command to restart:
sudo reboot
Step 5:
Go to the command line interface, close the current graphic interface, and find the. run file. Next, pay attention to the configuration of DKMS, so that the Next time you update the system kernel, you do not have to reinstall the graphics card driver, DKMS will dynamically compile. Configure the xorg configuration file and configure xserver to start automatically.
Step 6:
Enter the following command to start the graphic interface
sudo /etc/init.d/lightgdm restart
Enter the account password and enter the graphic interface. Install the N-card driver here. Enjoy!
