First, we recommend a good module download site: http://search.cpan.org
Today in Windows XP installed on the ActivePerl-5.12.2.1202-MSWin32-x86-293621.msi, open the project under eclipse, there are a lot of places to prompt the error is because the local no installation of related modules caused, then download the template from the above website for installation.
Many errors encountered during the installation process are recorded here, hoping to help those who need to perform similar operations.
On the internet, it can be directly installed with ppm, similar to ms dos> ppm install modelname. However, when I go to work, I access the Internet through a proxy and cannot directly download files under the DOS command. Therefore, you have to download the relevant files to your local computer and then install them.
My Perl installation directory: D:/program files/perl
The following uses UNICODE: map as an example to solve the problem one by one.
1. Before mingw is installed, the following message is displayed:
D:/Unicode-Map-0.112/Unicode-Map-0.112> Perl makefile. pl
It looks like you don't have a C compiler on your path, so you will not be
Able to compile C or Xs extension modules. you can install GCC from
Mingw package using the Perl Package Manager by running:
PPM install mingw
Unable to find a Perl 5 (by these names: D:/program files/perl/bin/perl.exe Perl
. EXE perl5.exe perl5.12.2.exe miniperl.exe, in these dirs:. D:/program files/PE

As mentioned above, you can also directly use the template required for ppm installation. If the network is smooth, for example, by using the command:
D:/Unicode-Map-0.112/Unicode-Map-0.112> ppm install mingw
2. Download mingw. I downloaded mingw-get-inst-20101030.exe and installed it. Then exit the CMD window and re-open it, and then makefile. pl. The error message returned this time is as follows:
D:/Unicode-Map-0.112/Unicode-Map-0.112> Perl makefile. pl

Writing makefile for Unicode: Map
After wingw is installed, no environment variables are set, so the GCC call cannot be found. The above prompt is displayed.
3. After setting, the error prompt changes again, as shown below:
Set up GCC environment-4.5.0
It looks like you don't have either nmake.exe or dmake.exe on your path,
So you will not be able to execute the commands from a makefile. You can
Install dmake.exe with the Perl Package Manager by running:
PPM install dmake
Unable to find a Perl 5 (by these names: D:/program files/perl/bin/perl.exe Perl

Writing makefile for Unicode: Map
There is no made file in windows. I downloaded a dmade file. The link is as follows:
Decompress the package and add the path to the environment variable.
4. After completing the above steps, you can make makefile again.
D:/Unicode-Map-0.112> Perl makefile. pl
Set up GCC environment-4.5.0
Writing makefile for Unicode: Map
However, in dmake, the following error occurs:
D:/Unicode-Map-0.112> dmake
Dmake: Error: -- 'd:/program 'not found, and can't be made
5. After searching for the Internet for a long time, I almost gave up. Check the compiled makefile (which is actually a text file) and find the directory where Perl is installed. The prompt is the first part of the installation directory. It is estimated that the installation directory contains spaces, cannot be correctly recognized by the dmake program.
Then uninstall Perl, reinstall it to the default directory c:/perl, and then dmake!
6. Summary
To install the Perl module in windows, perform the following steps:
Perl makefile. pl
Dmake
Dmake Test
Dmake install
