TLP is a popular Linux power tool software. You can use TLP to adjust the system battery to help extend the battery life.

 

The latest version 0.5 available for TLP has been released recently. Read the release log for detailed updates and changes in this version.

You can use PPA for installation. The supported system versions include: ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 13.10, Ubuntu 12.10, Ubuntu 12.04, Linux Mint 17, Linux Mint 16, Linux Mint 14, Linux Mint 13, and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna.

Open the terminal and enter the following command:

Sudo add-apt-repository ppa: linrunner/tlp
Sudo apt-get update
Sudo apt-get install tlp-rdw
