Ubuntu is also quite simple. Open the terminal and enter:

3. sudo apt-get install thunderbolt-3.0
After the installation is complete, the Alt-F2 opens the Run window, enter thunderbird-3.0, and then press Enter.
However, 3.0 after the default installation is complete, because locale-zh is not installed (cannot be found in the source), the Chinese emails are not displayed in Chinese encoding by default, so you need to adjust the encoding each time, which is troublesome.
To solve this problem, go to the thunderbird settings page, find: display-fonts-advanced, click the advanced button, and click set as shown in the following figure:
Here I select GB2312 for all codes. You can select GB2312 as needed.
Then, restart thunderbird. By default, all emails sent and received are displayed as GB2312. The Chinese titles with garbled characters are displayed normally.
