After installing Tomcat in eclipse, if you enter http: // localhost: 8080, the Error 404 may occur.

Open the Server View of Eclipse, double-click the Tomcat you configured, open the edit window, view server locations, and check whether the first option is selected (the first option by default ), that is, use workspace metadata (does not modify Tomcat instation ),

You should select the second option, use tomcat installation. Then you can start the service.

If the three single partitions in the server location are gray and cannot be edited, You need to delete the previous import, re-import it, and modify the server low.oins.
