Install Ubuntu dual system under Windows (hard drive installation)

Step one: Download mirrors, configure boot

1. Download the image file, put the mirror file into E disk (here you can choose which disk to put, just then ESAYBCD configuration file to make the corresponding changes); Casper the Vmlinuz and Initrd.lz in the directory to E disk;

2. Configure ESAYBCD and select Addnewentry->neogrub->configure-> to configure the following information:

Title Install Ubuntu 15.04
Root (hd0,5)
Kernel (hd0,5)/vmlinuz boot=casper iso-scan/filename=/ubuntu-15.04-desktop-i386.iso ro quiet Splash. UTF-8
INITRD (hd0,5)/initrd.lz

Note: here (hd0,5) represents e disk, (hd0,0) on behalf of C disk, (hd0,4) on behalf of e disk (0-3 primary partition; 4 starts as logical partition)

Step two: Go to boot, configure installation information

1. Before starting the installer, enter the command in the terminal to uninstall the ISO image: sudo umount-l/isodevice

2. Repartition: Locate the Ubuntu disk you have installed from Windows (for example, 20G), clean them up as a scratch area, and then partition

(1). root partition/: Partition size: 17269 (allocated according to your needs), select Primary partition, EXT4 file system type, mount point/

(2). Swap partition Swap: Partition size: 2048 (typically memory size), select Primary partition, select Swap space

3. Click Install, wait for installation to complete

Here is a description of the functions of each partition of the system:

/: The foundation of the whole system, is must have.
/swap: Operating system swap space, used to support virtual memory, when the system does not have enough memory to store the data being processed, it is necessary to use the swap partition.
/home: The default location for the household head directory.
/boot: Includes files used during the kernel and other system startup.
/usr: Includes files and directories directly related to system users, such as applications and library files that support them.
/var: For storing variable (or constantly changing) files, such as log files.
/tmp: A temporary directory of users and programs that gives all system users the right to read and write.
/OPT: A storage directory of optional files and programs that are primarily used by Third-party developers to easily install and uninstall their packages.
/bin: Used to store user commands, directory/usr/bin is also used to store user commands.
/sbin: The storage location of system commands (such as shutdown), and many system commands are included in the directory/usr/sbin.
/root: The home directory of the root user (Superuser).
/MNT: This directory typically includes mount points for file systems that are mounted after the system is booted.
/lost+found: Used by fsck to place fragmented files (files without names).
/lib: Contains many library files that are used by programs in/bin/and/sbin/, and directory/usr/lib/contains more library files for user programs.
/dev: storage device files.
/ETC: Contains a number of configuration files and directories.
/proc: A virtual file system (not actually stored on disk) that includes system information that is used by some programs.
/INITRD: The directory that is used to mount initrd.img image files when the computer starts up and the directory to load the required device modules.
