Install vsftpd on CentOS

2. Install the VSFTPD program.
   

   sudo Yum Install vsftpd

4. Start the FTP service.
   

   sudo service vsftp start

6. Add the FTP user and set the password.
   

   sudo FTP FTP-www
   sudo passwd FTP-www

7. Establish Ftp-www as the FTP root directory, while creating subdirectories incoming as the upload directory. Note that the new version of VSFTPD requires that the root directory cannot be writable.

    sudo  mkdir /var/ftp -www  sudo  mkdir /var/ftp -www/incoming  Span style= "color: #0000ff;" >sudo  chown -R ftp -www/var/ftp -www  sudo  chmod -R a-w /var/ftp -www  sudo  chmod -R 777 /var/ftp -www/incoming

9. modifies the vsftpd.conf file.
   

    sudo  vim/etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf 

   Modify the following:

    Anonymous_enable=noidle_session_timeout  =600  ascii_upload_enable  =yesascii_ download_enable  =yeschroot_local_user  = yesls_recurse_enable  =yes 

   and adds the following at the end:

    Userlist_deny=nolocal_root  =/var/ftp -wwwpasv_ Enable  =yes 
    pasv_min_port=40001 
    pasv_max_port=40008 
    Use_localtime=yes 

   # Note: For AWS Users, You need to open the port range set above in AWS security settings.

11. Open the User_list file and add the Ftp-www user name at the end. This allows the ftp-www to log in via the FTP tool.
    

    sudo vim/etc/vsftpd/user_list

    and add a line at the end:

    FTP-www

13. Restart the VSFTPD service.
    

    sudo service vsftpd restart

15. Turn off SELinux (the firewall blocks FTP data transfer).
    

    sudo 0
