I installed a restricted Driver (video card) in Ubuntu and then installed wine to run Diablo 2.

Installing wine in Ubuntu is very simple. It can be done through the new software package manager.

After the installation is complete, the wine group will appear in the Application menu. After installation, no configuration is required. However, you must first install the graphics card driver and then perform the wine step.

Run Diablo 2. I copied the Diablo folder directly from the NTFS partition of winxp. I also changed the folder to an English name to ensure security, but I'm not sure if I want to do this. It eventually runs.

Then I copied it to my user directory and opened the terminal (a window for executing commands, instead of the linux text mode, directly locate the application menu-> attachment-> terminal under GNOME ). Go to the dark directory and run a dark executable program with wine. (There are a lot of exe files in it, so you can find the one that you are playing Diablo on windows .)

The running method is:
$ Wine xxx.exe

There is a problem in painting: There is an animation, but the dark main interface will be black, but Press ESC to exit.

Why? Because the 3D desktop effect is automatically enabled when the video card driver is installed (the effect is actually pretty good, but it is not compatible with many things, including videos and games ). To disable it, go to System-> preference-> appearance. After it is opened, there is a Visual Effects tab. Select None. Then you can play the dark color in full screen.

Can you disable this special effect? Yes. That is, run Diablo 2 in window mode.

Add the-w parameter and use the window mode to play the dark. this parameter is found on the network. It may be a parameter used to crack a dark patch. Any dark version that plays the D version has been installed with this patch. This patch is mainly used for CD-free purposes.
