Install WSS 3.0 on Windows 7

WSS 3.0 must be installed on Windows server. To build a WSS development environment, developers only need to install Windows server or use virtual machines.

Wssvista. Install can be used to install Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 in Vista and Windows 7 environments. Without virtual machines, you can directly build a WSS Development Environment on Windows 7 machines.

 

Step 1 download and install wssvista. Install

Decompress and install the package, and upload the setuplauncher.exe file in the c: \ Program Files \ wssonvista \ setup directory.

 

Step 2 enable IIS on Windows 7

IIS is not enabled by default in Windows 7. Go to Control Panel> Programs and features> turn windows features on or off to enable IIS functions. See the diagram

 

Step 3 download and install SQL Server

WSS requires SQL server support. For Windows 7, you can install SQL Server 2005 express or SQL Server 2008 Express.

Step 4 download wss3.0 with SP2

Step 5 install wss3.0 using wssvista. Install

Run c: \ Program Files \ wssonvista \ Setup \ setuplauncher.exe

After setuplauncher.exe is run, it will pop up to ask the path of the WSS Installation File, select the WSS installation file downloaded in Step 4, and then start the normal WSS installation interface, follow the prompts to install wss3.0.
