Installation and configuration management of Linux virtualization XenServer

System Requirements

XenServer requires at least two separate x86 physical computers: one to use as a XenServer host and another to run XenCenter applications.

The XenServer host computer is completely dedicated to running the XenServer that hosts the VM and is not used to run other applications. The computer running Xencenter can be any universal Windows computer that meets the hardware requirements, or it can be used to run other applications.

Installation Instructions:

The server CPU that installs XenServer 6.5 must support virtualization, Intel (vt-x) or AMD (AMD-V)

First, download XenServer

You can download the Xerserver software from http://xenserver.org/, the latest version is now 6.5.

Second, installation XenServer

Download it back and follow the instructions below to install it.

1. Put the downloaded XenServer ISO image, and start the machine, will display the installation interface, directly press ENTER to install.

6. Choose the installation method, there is local, FTP or HTTP, and NFS, because the image is installed, directly select OK.

10. Set the IP address, the default use DHCP to assign IP address, it is recommended to use static IP address, if there is a DNS server, you can use dynamic IP address, and click OK.

13. Select the time zone Shanghai and click OK.

14. Select the time synchronization mode and click OK. If a using NTP server is selected, enter the IP address of the NTP server, Manualtime entry to use local time.

2. Change IP address information and hostname

in the XenServer Server Select "Network and Management Interface" and select "configuremanagement Interface" The user name password verification prompt appears, enter the corresponding information, enter the Setup interface.

3. Create a system mirroring pool

XenServer installation, the default root partition leaves little (2G avail), when this space is occupied, performance will be greatly reduced. Therefore, this article is divided into two parts, the first part is how to increase the size of the ISO image storage directory, the second part is how to create a local ISO repository.

3.1 First use SSH tools such as putty to connect to the XenServer server and go to the command line.

3.2 Use the Vgdisplay command to view the volume group (VG) available space (free pe/size), remembering the name "Vg_xenstorage-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" of the volume group behind the VG name.

3.3 Create a logical Volume (LV) using the lvcreate command, this example: Create a logical volume in an existing volume group with the name Iso_storage size 20GB.
