1. Hardware and software requirements:

Medium environment (500-1000 managed machines): Dual 3 GHz Xeon processor, memory 2 gb~6 GB

Large environment (1000-5000 managed machines): Quad 3 GHz Xeon processor, memory 4 gb~8 GB

2. IBM Director username and password

You need to enter a username and password during IBM Director installation, which must match the name and password of an account with administrator privileges in the operating system.

For example, in Windows with Administrator rights account name is Admin01, password is password, then, in the installation director process needs to enter the user name and password is admin01 and password.

3. Successfully installed Director

At the end of the IBM Director installation, a small icon appears in the lower-right corner of the screen, from the Red Quartet to the green triangle, and finally the green Circle indicates that the director is installed and the service has started.

5. Unable to login director

If you are prompted incorrectly on the Director console page, check to see if the system account you entered at installation is in the user-managed Smadmin group, which is the director software-generated system management group that does not have users in this group who cannot log in to director.
