Suddenly I had the idea of installing a Linux to come and play. who installed it was so troublesome? after four days of hard work, I finally installed a Fedora Core 3. Now I have recorded the process as follows:
Wednesday:
Problem 1: I was eager to take the RedHat 9 of four discs, plug them into the optical drive, and start installation. who knows it will stop immediately, and the last line of text is: USB... dected: 2 ports .... the next action is to restart and search repeatedly, but I still don't know why.
I suddenly thought that I was using a USB interface mouse. Is it because there are too many USB devices? Try now!
After the mouse is unplugged, you can pass it. Although you cannot enter the graphic flower interface without a mouse, the installation is completed step by step.
Problem 2: restart immediately after installation. When all the boot is complete, it is necessary to enter the login interface, the screen suddenly becomes dark, no display. pressing any health, restarting, or reinstalling does not work. It's really depressing!
I don't know if RedHat is too bad or my computer is too bad. Forget it, use the Chinese Red Flag instead.
That night, the computer rang all night (download)
Thursday:
Problem 3: I found a lot of information about hard disk installation on the Internet. Put the downloaded ISO file on a FAT32 disk and leave enough space to start fighting.
Redflag requires a boot disk to be installed. (For details, refer to its installation manual) but it must be a floppy disk (A or B). I have no soft drive, and only one U disk can be started, it does not work. so I also declared a failure. I wonder if there are other methods. ~ _~
Then I went to find the Linux that can be installed without a floppy boot. On the Internet, I talked about RedHat and FC3, and I didn't want to come across RedHat, so only FC3 is used (although they are the same product)
That night, the computer was downloaded all night...
Friday night:
Installation Method: run the downloaded Fedora Core
3. Place the image file in the root directory of the FAT32 partition. Create a New dosutils folder and copy the initrd. IMG and vmlinuz of the first disc to the folder.
And then copy the loadlin.exe file of Fedora Core 1to the same directory. The self-built batch processing file autoboot. Bat contains the following content:
Loadlin vmlinuz initrd = initrd. IMG ramdisk_size = 9216
Loadlin.exe can also be downloaded directly from the following website: (my version is 1.6c)
Http://download.fedora.redhat.com/p...core/1/i386/ OS/
Start the computer with a DOS boot disk and run autoboot. bat under dosutils in DOS to start installation.
Problem 4: I use a CD to start the DOS mode of wn98, and then execute autoboot. bat, but it will automatically restart immediately and cannot be installed.
Then I try to start it with a USB flash drive (the freedos operating system is started), then execute autoboot and install it.
Problem 5: An error occurred when installing the file to be copied: Copy failed, maybe the ISO file is incomplete.
In Windows, I used winmd5 to perform MD5 verification on four ISO files. I found that the MD5 Calculation Codes of the first and second files are inconsistent with those of the md5sum file (which must be downloaded with FC3. no way, you have to download it again.
......
After a long wait, the download is complete and the MD5 code is verified. The installation is successful again!
