Installing Ubuntu server in VMware Wrokstration is really simple. But there is a detail problem, that is, if you choose Chinese installation, because the language package is not complete, resulting in the use of some text garbled, and if you choose to install in English, it will result in the late installation of software or update system, the default mirror site is a foreign site, the update is slow, even the situation can not update. This problem can be resolved at the time of installation by making a custom adjustment. Here are the specific installation steps:
Step 1: After the virtual machine is created, after the setup ISO file starts, it will come to the following interface "Language"
Step 2 "Select a language" Here we choose the English language, because the Chinese translation is not complete, will appear garbled, the best choice in English
Step 3 "Select your location" Choose your region, although English is selected, but we are not Europe and the United States region, so we need to choose "other"
Step 4 "Select your Location" is available by default
"Configure the keyboard" uses the default
Step 5 "Configure the keyboard" default
Step 6 "Configure the keyboard" default
Step 7 "Configure the network" in turn, set the hostname, user name, password
Choose not to encrypt the home directory below
