Installing Mac OS X 10.10 in Vmware12

1. Preparatory work

1) VMware Workstation 12 (download to VMware website)

2. Installation

1) Install the virtual machine. Run as administrator, step-by-step installation.

2) Install the plugin.

• Open Task Manager, turn off process vmnetdhcp,vmusbarbservice, VMware NAT Service, vmwarehostd.
• Unzip OS X plug-in patch Unlocker203.zip, run unlocker203 under Win-install.cmd as Administrator, and wait for the run to complete. This allows VMware to recognize Mac OS X.

3) Create the virtual machine.

• Open file-new virtual machine,
• Select a typical configuration and click Next
• Select the Setup CD image file, browse to find the Cdr file, click Next
• Select Apple Mac OS X (M), OS x 10.10, click Next
• Set the virtual machine name and location and click Next
• Choose to split the virtual disk into multiple files and click Next
• Click Finish

4) Turn on install Mac OS X 10.10

• Click to turn on this virtual machine.

The following issues were encountered:

Solution:

Open the OS X 10.10.vmx file in the installation directory and add smc.version = 0 under smc.present = "TRUE"

• Select Simplified Chinese and click Continue
• Select utilities, Disk utility, 42.95GB VMware, erase tabs, click Erase, click on Disk Utility, and exit the disk utility when you are done.
• Follow the prompts to complete the follow-up installation step by step.

5) VMware Tools and Shared Folders

Install VMware Tools:

• Open finder-> Preferences, tick the CD, DVD and ipod, connected servers.
• Right-click on the installation disk Yosemite install (14a389) and choose "Yosemite Install (14a389)".
• Click on the virtual machine---Removable device->CD/DVD (SCSI)--Settings, hardware CD/DVD (SCSI), select Use ISO image file, browse to select Darwin.iso file in Unlocker203\tools, click OK.
• Click the disc icon in the lower right corner and select Connect.
• In the pop-up window, select "Install VMware Tools", enter the password, and click Install. Reboot after installation is complete.

Shared folders:

• Open the virtual machines, settings, Options tab, select Always enable, add the folders you want to share. Click OK.

Once the settings are complete, you can pass files between the local host and the virtual machine, and drag the files on the local host directly to the operating system on the virtual machine.
