In "writing an operating system by yourself", the author's platform is virtual PC 5.0. He uses this virtual machine as the development platform, however, unfortunately, virtualpc was acquired by mirosoft after its release of version 5.2, and then it took advantage of Microsoft's dominance to make VPC only support windows. DOS support is not good.
Note!
NOTE 2: I have prepared this article after VPC and VMWare for one day. In view of the lack of relevant resources on the Internet, I wrote it for your reference. Please keep your information and website when reprinting, thank you!
Let's get down to the point where I will discuss my experiences with VPC today:
First, the Chinese version of Virtual PC 5.2 is the best choice. Virtual 2007 can be installed with DOS, but cannot share folders (the reason will be said later ).
1. Install msdos 6.22
Here is the next image of msdos6.22: http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm
Select non-Windows based image files w_imageapp dos622c.zip
Direct: http://s93616405.onlinehome.us/bootdisk/622c.zip
After downloading and decompressing the package, it is a 622c. IMG (this is a floppy disk image)
Start Virtual PC and create a new PC with 32 MB memory, 50 MB hard disk, and OK!
Choose ">" soft drive ">" load image "and select" 622c. IMG ".
OK, boot the system, enter DOS, and then partition the hard disk
Run the command: fdisk, press enter all the way to the end (Note: 2007 is required, not required in version 5.2)
Format disk C:/s
Then transfer the system file sys c:
Then copy the floppy disk file: Copy A:/*. * C:/(Be sure not to overwrite the existing files on drive C)
OK. Menu-> Software drive-> release image "622c. IMG"
Restart, So that you enter the DOS environment.
2. Install the shared folder module.
Note: fshare.exe is not running in the connectix product and cannot be run. As a result, DOS additional modules cannot be installed in vpc2007, but cannot share folders.
VPC 5.2 Chinese edition setting method:
Restart to enter dos, menu-> soft drive-> load image select dos additional module (this file I have put in the public download directory of the http://greenerycn.ys168.com file name is dosadditions.7z)
After loading, switch to the floppy disk
Run the following command: C:/>:
Run the following command: A:/> dosadd
Then we can see successful.
Then restart the system. After Entering the dossystem, choose "edit"> "Property Settings". You can add a shared folder and set it to drive letter y:
Then run the command Y:
You can see the shared file.
In VMware, you only need to step 1 to set the shared folder. No additional modules are required!
It is best to use VMware because it is not that complicated to implement folder sharing when it supports multiple systems.
