How to install oracle10G on suse10
Currently, the normal installation of 10 Gb only supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1 and 3, and on UnitedLinux 1.0. If it is another version, such as fedora, rh9, and suse10, 10 Gb will say it is not supported, and installation is not allowed. The solution is as follows:
1. Run runInstaller-ignoreSysPrereqs to skip the check.
2. Modify the/etc/redhat-release file to make 10 Gb think they are in a supported operating system. Run the following command:
Su-root
Cp/etc/redhat-release/etc/redhat-release.backup
Cat>/etc/redhat-release <EOF
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon)
EOF
After the installation is complete, restore the file:
Su-root
Cp/etc/redhat-release.backup/etc/redhat-release
Ins_ctxmk error occurs when oracle 11g R2 is installed in linux (x86 ).
MOS document 11gR2 Install Fails On Make [ID 1174765.1]
The reason is that the/usr/bin/ld file version on the operating system is too low.
Check
% Ls-l/usr/bin/ld
Lrwxrwxrwx 1 root 14 May 14 13:42/usr/bin/ld->/usr/bin/ld215
%/Usr/bin/ld-v
GNU ld version 2.15.92.0.2 20040927
Minimum requirements for this version
Binutils-2.17.50.0.6-2.el5
If your version is earlier than the binutils-2.17.50.0.6-2.el5, it won't work.
Solution:
1. Set/usr/bin/ld to 2.17.50 version.
2
Relink
% Script/tmp/relink. out
% Relink all
% Exit
3. Check whether/tmp/relink. out is incorrect.
