First, the preparatory work1. Need VMware (for example, VMware 10.0, My computer's operating system is Win7)2. The Rhel image file is required. (The file name I downloaded: rhel-server-6.2-x86_64-dvd.iso)
Second, start the installation1. Open VMware, there are three ways to create a new virtual machine:
① Create a new virtual machine by direct click;
② file → new virtual machine;
③ Press the CTRL + N key.
2. After the point is opened, a wizard appears. Recommended point customization, because there are typical settings, custom, there are more can set items, read the next step is not understood directly (not specifically described, direct point to the next step).
3. Select the source of the installation. The first is the light drive, the second is the virtual optical drive (can be installed directly with the downloaded virtual CD), here first select a third, and then install.
4. Choose Linux on the next operating system you want to install, and the version is red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (choose 64-bit if appropriate).
5. Name the system and select the location to store it.
6. Select the number of processors (relational formula: Total number of
cores of processor = number of processors * Number of cores per processor ).
Note: The higher the total number of cores for the processor, the faster the system speed in the virtual machine and the relative physical system's processor resources will be consumed by it. The number cannot exceed the number supported by the host.
7. Select the memory for the virtual machine. The same virtual machine occupies the resources of the physical machine, select the recommended is good.
8. Select a network type
① use bridged networks. The IP address of the virtual machine can be set sing Woo the physical machine is on the same network segment, can be accessed with other machines on the same network segment as the physical machine, and the client must have its own IP address.
② uses network address translation. Virtual machines can have two-way access to physical machines, but other machines within a physical machine network segment cannot communicate with virtual machines. The equivalent of a physical machine has a DHCP service that assigns the virtual machine the IP address of another network segment.
③ uses only the host-mode network. Use a private network to connect virtual machines to physical machines, and virtual machines and physical machines can be accessed in both directions.
④ does not use a network connection. As the name implies, is not connected to the network.
9. Select the I/O controller type.
①buslogic (U), older technology, I/O performance is much worse than LSI, and can only be used in older systems.
②lsi Logic (L), parallel, best compatibility.
③lsi Logic SAS (S), serial, performs better (reduces address collisions and daisy-chain deceleration), and can connect more devices.
10. Select a disk type
①ide (I), a relatively early computer interface, used to connect some old devices.
②SCSI (S), which is relatively resource-saving and compatible with SATA.
③sata (A), cheaper than SCSI.
11. Select Disk
The difference between the three items is better understood.
① the first item is equivalent to a new hard drive;
② the second is to pick up the old hard drive;
③ the third item is directly connected to the physical machine hard disk, more dangerous, not recommended.
We just created it, so choose to create a new virtual disk.
12. Specify the disk capacity
① maximum disk size, allocated as required, generally as recommended;
② immediately allocate all disk space (explanation see picture);
③ can degrade performance if it splits multiple words, if the condition allows (for example, FAT32 does not support 4G or more files), the single file will be better.
13. Select the disk save location (make sure you have enough space when selecting).
14. If you want to adjust the hardware device, you can click on custom hardware (can still be modified after completion). then click Finish.
15. After completion as shown, you can turn on the virtual machine (the virtual machine is still bare metal), next installation Please see the next section ~O (∩_∩) o
