Installing the dig command under Windows system

Dig is a small tool used for DNS query information under Linux, dig full name is Domain information Groper, similar to Nslookup, but more powerful than nslookup function. Windows only nslookup, we use http://members.shaw.ca/nicholas.fong/dig/to change the project provided by Windows version dig, the following steps:

1, download Dig package, is: Http://members.shaw.ca/nicholas.fong/dig/dig-files3.zip

2. Setting

Unzip this package, such as to put all the files in the compressed package into the C:\dig directory, and then edit the c:\dig\resolv.conf file, you need to use the DNS server specified in this file, in the same format as the/etc/resolv.conf under Linux, for example:

NameServer 8.8.8.8
NameServer 8.8.4.4

After saving, copy the file to the%windows%\system32\drivers\etc directory.

3. Setting Environment variables

Windows 7, right-click on "Computer"-"Properties"-"Advanced system Settings"-"Environment variables"-"System variables", find path, point "edit", at the end of the add; C:\dig OK.
This completes both installation.
