Installing the JDK and configuring environment variables under windows

1. Download JDK

http://www.oracle.com/

2. Run the installation package

Install home directory as C:\Java\jdk1.7.0_09

Where jdk1.7.0_09 is the version number of the current installation package.

Then Java's home directory is: C:\Java\jdk1.7.0_09

You can install only the JDK without having to install the JRE because the JRE already exists in the JDK.

3. Setting Environment Variables

3.1. Java_home

C:\Java\jdk1.7.0_09

3.2. Path Add content

.; %java_home%\bin;%java_home%\jre\bin

3.3. CLASSPATH

.; %java_home%\lib\dt.jar;%java_home%\lib\tools.jar

4. Verify

To DOS, enter Java or javac, not prompted to find the command, that is, successful installation.
