how to compile WinCE6.0 and develop applications under Windows, as described below (You must ensure there is enough space on the C drive before installation! About 20g! mainly because the installer will decompress during installation):

prior to Visual Studio 2005, the development of the WinCE embedded program required the installation of Platform Builder, but Platform Builder was integrated into Visual Studio 2005 as a plug-in.

1.
Download and install Visual Studio 2005(Visual Studio 2008 only supports development applications and cannot be used to customize the WinCE kernel), it is recommended to install under the new XP . in order to reduce the trouble of the future, I chose the full installation here

Success messages that appear after the installation is complete:

2.
Download Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1 and install It (note that if Visual Studio 2005 is installed in Chinese, you should also select the Chinese version of SP1. The file name is: Vs80sp1-kb926604-x86-chs.exe, about 430Mb), during the hard drive lights flashing! Suggest not to do other things, otherwise very card. The quickest is almost one hours to install.

3.
Install Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Evaluation Edition, from the Microsoft official website down only a Setup.exe file, is the use of online download method, fortunately a lot of good. Key is: H8RQR-MMKRP-XFRFC-9HKGJ-82R6J, can be configured by default (in CE6.0 Operating system as long as the selection of armv4i can be, do not choose the other Operating system)

4.
Install Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Platform Builder Service Pack 1, which should be an MSI file around 56Mb

5.
Install Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2, there are two files, one is Ce6r2.iso (1.9

G) and the other is Setup.exe (for online installation). We can download the Ce6r2.iso and then open it directly in the virtual CD-ROM. Point Setup.exe can be installed. After we open Visual Studio 2005, we will see "Platform Builder for CE 6.0" on the launch screen after the installation is complete.

6. Install Microsoft Device Emulator 2.0--Standalone Release,

7. Install virtual PC

Note: All of the above can be downloaded from Microsoft website!

After some of the above toss, and finally put the WinCE development environment installed, the following is the installation of all the files, probably a total of 4g installation files from the official website, all loaded, C disk needs about 12g of space. If all goes well, the entire installation process will last for about 6 hours:

Here's how to compile the wince kernel:

1.

platform Builder for CE 6.0 ", selected in the right-hand template OS Design , click Next, since we do not have a device on hand, so select device emulator:armv4i , in the D Select PDA Devicein esign templates, then select Mobile Handheldin the design Template varients, then select some applications according to your own situation. I'm here to keep the default, and then in the network section also remain the default, so that's it, click Done. Then there will be a security warning prompt, ignore, direct acknowledge. below to compile our kernel: Right-click the project, in the properties of general can be set in debug mode or Release mode, debug mode is larger, will output some debug information in the kernel runtime, here we choose Debug Mode, and then disable the build The Enable KITL in the options(otherwise, the emulator will be black!) ), and finally build our solution on it. My Intel dual-core machine was almost compiled for about half an hour.

Pop-up warning message, don't bother

but to say, I did not pass the first compile, in the WinCE installation directory in the Build.log has the following sentence: Error Sysgen0000:error (s) in Sysgen phase, and then Google a bit, The-->advanced build Commands-->clean Sysgen was generated in the menu, and then the compilation was successful.

Put a picture:

Here's how to run in the emulator:

After compiling, click menu Target-->connectivity Options, set the mode (set Download, transport and debugger)

Click Apply, and then close is available.

Click the menu Target-->attach Devices, wait a few minutes the simulator will appear wince interface:

We open the device Emulator Manager on the Tools menu, right-click the Pocket PC 2003 SE Square VGA Emulator and select Connect to open the simulator for Pocket PC 2003:
