1, Deb is the format of Ubuntu, Debian.

RPM is the format of Redhat, Fedora, and SuSE.

They are not universal (though they can be converted).

Deb is a Debian-released package
Ubuntu is a Debian-based release of all available

. deb is the installation package suffix name under the Solaris system. The installation method is as follows

CD to the directory of the installation package

Dpkg-i Install package Name

2. If you are using Red Hat Linux, then run the following command to install

RPM-IVH Install package Name
