With the increasingly extensive and in-depth application of video surveillance, various industries, commercial enterprises, and public users are increasingly demanding network-based video surveillance, the "Global eye" and "Wide View" business models gradually show their advantages. operators can use the advantages of ubiquitous broadband networks to connect scattered and independent image collection points to the Internet, achieve unified monitoring, storage, management, and resource sharing across regions and a wide range.
Operational monitoring platform requirements
Users monitored by operators on the global eye and wide view platforms can be divided into industry users, ordinary commercial users, and individual users. From the current development stage, industry users are currently the main target customers of operator monitoring, and monitoring itself is a line-by-line and personalized service. In terms of operation monitoring, according to the different requirements of professional users, ordinary commercial users, and individual public users on image definition, latency, data reliability, and cost monitoring, targeted deployment and implementation are required.
Therefore, an operational monitoring platform requires that it be operational and manageable, and can meet the characteristics of large capacity, scalability, and high performance of carrier systems, at the same time, to develop a large number of industry users and meet the needs of end users with a large number of industry characteristics, such as high-definition and Low-latency images, three integrations of public security and security projects, alarm linkage, intelligent image analysis, license plate recognition, and other industry-specific value-added business needs.

It is the first to introduce the NGN architecture and SIP control signaling into the monitoring system. It adopts the structure of separation of signaling control and Media Processing, and implements the monitoring management and control platform based on the concept of SoftSwitch, all monitoring functions are implemented using IP standard technology, which greatly improves the use of vendor proprietary protocols in the original monitoring industry.
The first hardware streaming media switch ums was introduced to achieve real large-capacity, low-latency media stream exchange, comprehensively improving the overall level of the operator's streaming media distribution network.
It was the first to introduce the concept of Storage Management (DM), which effectively solved the problem of massive video storage management for large-scale monitoring, and achieved distributed deployment and centralized management of massive storage, dynamic Storage space allocation and adjustment.
First, we introduced the storage method of iSCSI block storage into monitoring, this effectively solves the dumbbell effect caused by the file storage of the original monitoring video images (low system performance caused by the performance bottleneck of the Streaming Media Server, complex cluster management, and poor stability ), at the same time, it enables real-time playback and second-level retrieval of historical videos.
It was the first to introduce the EPON technology into the monitoring solution and use one optical fiber to carry multiple monitoring points, which solved the problem of large-scale monitoring occupying a large amount of optical fiber resources.

The H3C IVS operation-level IP intelligent monitoring solution includes Video Monitoring and Management Server VM series video management components, Ms series media distribution and storage components, EC/ECR series video encoder, DC series video decoder, client software VC, IP-SAN network storage equipment, etc.
The following figure shows the structure of the IVS solution system:
Figure 2 Composition of the IVS Intelligent Monitoring System
The components are as follows:
Central Service Platform: Provides access management for users and devices, video access and control services, and storage and processing services.
VM center management unit: acts as the business center within the domain and is responsible for global business control. As an interactive entity between domains, it is responsible for Inter-Domain Business control and global business and authentication functions. Meanwhile, the built-in NRM storage management module enables centralized management of a large number of storage devices in the system and Dynamic Distribution of storage resources.
VM control signaling unit: acts as the signaling processing center in the domain and is responsible for global signaling processing. As a signaling interaction entity between domains, Vm is responsible for Inter-Domain signaling control; coordinates the signaling interaction between the local or external domain terminal entities.
Ums9005 universal media switch: Consistent with the function of the MS video distribution unit, it forwards and distributes audio and video. However, unlike the architecture of Ms video distribution units using PC servers and software, ums9005 adopts the H3C high-end switch architecture and adopts the vtdu Board developed by NP technology for media forwarding. The single board forwarding capacity reaches 8 GB, and a single device can have up to four Boards, it provides real high-performance media processing capabilities and is suitable for large-capacity media forwarding at the operation level. It also supports dual-controller and dual-power supply.
Ms video distribution unit (vtdu): the main function of the MS video distribution unit is to forward and distribute real-time video and audio media streams, it can receive unicast or multicast real-time video and audio data sent by EC/ECR media terminals and forward and distribute the data to multiple video clients (VC or DC media terminals ). Multiple Ms video distribution units can be deployed in the system in a distributed manner. VM video management units manage and schedule services to achieve load balancing.
The MS network storage unit (NRU) is responsible for video data transfer and retrieval. It is responsible for receiving video data forwarded by the MS video distribution unit and storing it in an ip san storage device, in addition, based on the standard RTSP and RTP protocols, the VOD function for the video client is provided. The system can deploy multiple MS network storage units in a distributed manner, which are managed by VM video management units and business scheduling.
IP San video storage device: provides video data storage. The ip san storage technology is undoubtedly the best choice for storing and sharing massive amounts of information. The video and audio Storage section includes H3C IP-SAN storage devices. All ip san storage devices can be flexibly deployed in different monitoring centers as needed, but they can all be centrally managed by the storage management module.
Front-end unit: complete the video signal input function. In addition to various front-end camera equipment and cloud platform, the video source also includes the EC/ECR series monitoring media terminal of H3C.
Figure 3 frontend Devices
The EC/ECR front-end encoder uses telecommunication devices and has a wide range of temperature and humidity adaptation. It is superior to common video encoders in terms of Lightning Protection, anti-corrosion, and moisture-proof. At the same time, ECR encoder is also equipped with internal storage devices, supports front-end local storage, local high-reliability SATA hard disks, high-reliability technologies such as raid and hot plug-in, and sound SNMP network management to achieve unified management of devices and storage resources. In addition, EC/ECR provides a wide range of Network Interfaces. In addition to standard electrical interfaces, it also supports SFP and EPON passive optical network interfaces.
Client unit: it is an application platform for centralized remote image monitoring and maintenance management, including DC series Video Decoder and VC client software.
The DC-series monitoring media terminals also provide video and audio decoding, output, and network access functions. The IP data packets sent from the front-end monitoring media terminal can be restored to analog video and audio signals and then input to the TV wall and other devices.
The VC client software consists of two components: the Administrator version and the customer version. The Administrator version must be used by the operator Administrator to complete the management of Customer Service Activation. The customer version is used by end users, you can use VC to complete video real-time monitoring, cloud platform control, video on demand, and other business functions.
