Internet cafes use ADSL to access the Internet. My Internet cafe has 50 machines, and the access speed through k adsl is very fast. Next I will talk about how to share an ADSL account with multiple computers in the LAN.

Hardware connection

There are two ways to connect ADSL to a LAN:

Method 1: Add a 10 or 10/100 Mbit/s adaptive Nic to the server, and connect the adsl modem to this NIC with the attached network cable. At this time, the server should have two NICs, one connected to the adsl modem and the other connected to the LAN. You only need to install and set up proxy servers on this computer (such as Sygate, Wingate, Windows ICS, and other software) to share the internet ). Method 2: connect the adsl modem to the hub of the local network. There are two methods: one is to connect the network cable connected to the adsl modem directly to the common RJ-45 interface of the hub, in this case, the crossover line is used. For details about how to create the crossover line, see the following. The second method is to connect the network cable connected to the adsl modem directly to the UP-LINK port of the hub (some hubs do not provide UP-LINK ports, use the original MODEM network cable (direct line.

To create a crossover line, follow these steps:

Step 1: Use the oblique port to cut down the required twisted pair length, at least 0.6 meters, up to 100 meters. Then, remove the outer skin of the twisted pair (which can be used to cut anything) with 2-3 cm pairs. Some twisted pair cable contains a soft nylon rope, If you strip out the twisted pair outer skin, feel exposed part is too short, and is not conducive to the production of RJ-45 connector, can hold the twisted pair outer skin, hold the Nylon Wire and peel it off to the bottom of the outer skin to obtain a longer exposed line.

Step 2: Perform the cabling operation. Place the orange pairs in the exposed twisted pair wires in front of the wire, the brown pairs in front of the wire, the green lines in the left, and the blue lines in the right.

Step 3: place the green and blue pairs in the middle, while the orange and brown pairs remain unchanged, that is, place them outside.

Step 4: According to EIA/TIA 568B, the best wiring method should be:

From left: White orange/white green/blue/white blue/green/White brown/brown;

The connection method at the other end should be:

From left: white green/White orange/blue/white blue/orange/White brown/brown.

If you do not know what cross lines and direct lines are, you can go to the computer city to sell network products, you just need to tell them to use cat5e or cat5e unshielded twisted pair wires to help you make a one, two, three, six pair of twisted pair wires. They will understand it as soon as they hear it.

Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages. If only two computers are connected to each other, it would be better to use the first method. Because you only need to add a 10 MB Nic, you can save the next Hub (the NICS of the two computers can connect the two computers through the crossover line done in the above method, therefore, you can save the next hub ). Currently, the price of 10 MB Nic is only dozens of RMB, which is cheaper than that of hub. Therefore, it is more suitable for friends who only have two computers to share the internet.

However, the disadvantage of this method is that you need to enable the chassis to add NICs. For friends who are not familiar with computers, it may be difficult to install and set two NICs and ensure that the two NICs do not conflict with each other. We recommend that you use the second method to connect multiple computers in the LAN through a hub. Because a hub already exists, it can be extended without adding a nic. In addition, proxy server software can be installed on any computer in the LAN, which is more flexible. The disadvantage is to make another crossover line.

Set Sygate

Sygate is currently one of the most common Internet sharing software for Internet cafes, and its configuration is very simple. The procedure is as follows:

(1) download Sygate first. I think Sygate's HomeNetwork version 4.0 is quite useful.

(2) install the ENI and keep following "Next". Remember to bind the internal Nic when binding the NIC;

(3) set the internal network card and enter an IP address in the Intranet card of the server (host), for example, 192.168.xxx.xxx. (xxx is a range from 0 ~ 254. You can select an internal IP address of the host. Among them, 0 and 255 are reserved for system broadcast and cannot be used.) then, set the subnet mask, if there are no more than 255 LAN clients, you can use 255.255.255.0. All right, now the host is ready.

(4) The next step is to set up the client. If you specify an IP address in the client, the IP address must be in the same network segment, and the subnet mask must be the same as that of the host. Note that the customer needs to set up a gateway and the gateway is the IP address of the host. Then, enter DNS: 202.96.128.68.
