Introduction to ASP. NET mobile development (1)

Before getting started with ASP. NET mobile development programming, we will first introduce how to use simulators to browse ASP. NET mobile WEB pages. Different mobile devices have a wide gap in support for ASP. NET mobile programs, so the display effect is also different. I will use two different simulators to display mobile pages here. In actual development, pay attention to the display effect of ASP. NET mobile WEB pages on different devices.

Now we will compile the instance described in the previous section directly in Visual Stduio 2005. It will automatically use IE to present the page. The effect is as follows:

The common simulators used in the development process are the Pocket PC simulation devices that come with Openwave V7 and Visual Studio 2005. Openwave V7 can be stored in ghost ).

After the download and installation are complete, open the Openwave V7 simulator. The following interface is displayed:

In the address bar of the left-side window, enter the mobile page URL generated by Visual Stduio 2005, which is the result of the Openwave V7 simulator:

The Openwave V7 simulator Console window on the right displays the page information, including the URL of the mobile page, the generated WAP file, and the IP address and port of the server. For more information, see the Openwave V7 help file.

After completing the steps of Openwave V7, I will introduce in detail how to use the IE provided by Pocket PC to browse the generated ASP. NET mobile development page program. Because we use simulators instead of actual Pocket PC devices, the simulators must be connected to the Internet through your computer, rather than through GPRS as the actual devices. To this end, we must download a synchronization software provided by Microsoft, which can be used to connect mobile devices and PCs using cables, base, Bluetooth, or infrared rays, and create a synchronization relationship between them.

ActiveSync can be downloaded at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/activesync41.mspx.
