ITerm Introduction

The iTerm is a completely free command-line application built for Mac OS users. We can open its official website and take a look at www.iterm2.com:

We open iTerm first to see this interface:

Standard command line application color, of course, this color scheme may seem not lively enough, we can certainly change the color, we can open perferences to adjust the settings:

After entering the Setup interface, we can find the Colors color scheme panel in the Profiles tab, in the lower right corner of the box, we can see several built-in color schemes for us to choose from, such as black style, white style, dark blue style, and so on:

A few quick actions commonly used:

1. Select to copy

The command line we used before is either unable to copy the operation using the regular copy key, or it is selected and then the key is copied, ITerm2 is special, and the automatic copy succeeds when checked.

Go where you need to paste, press COMMAND + V to paste the success

2. Full-Text search function, just like we edit text in a text editor, just command + F to enter what you want to find and highlight it on the current command line page, as shown in the figure:

3. Separate screen display, horizontal divider command +shift +d

5. The right side of the image above is another new feature of ITerm2, which holds the same directory as the Last tab key, and opens a new window that automatically navigates to the directory where the TAB key is used.

For example, in the image below, I use the TAB key to navigate to the ~/code directory, and then create a new window on the horizontal split screen, which is automatically positioned in the ~/code directory by default. The following settings are required

6. Press COMMAND +; Auto-Complete command

7. Record history input commands, COMMAND + Shift +h all show up

8. Define your own dedicated quick key
