Simply put, Ganymede refers to the 24 major Eclipse projects that are released synchronously.
In the Ganymede and Eclipse release series, it is often important to note that even if it is distributed simultaneously, it does not mean that the projects are integrated. Each project is still a stand-alone open source project, with an independent project leadership, submitter, and operating according to its own development plan. Ultimately, Ganymede will increase the productivity of developers working on Eclipse projects by providing a more transparent and predictable development cycle.
Get Ganymede
Before we discuss each item in detail, let's start with a quick practice exercise that installs Ganymede in your computer.
There are two main ways to get Ganymede, depending on your preferences. The first method (recommended) is to obtain only the relevant packages. Another way to get Ganymede is to use the update site.
Ganymede Package
The recommended Ganymede fetch method is to access the Eclipse Ganymede Packages site. The package site contains Ganymede versions that are packaged specifically for your usage requirements.

Ganymede Update site
To obtain Ganymede using the update site, download the Eclipse V3.4 SDK. When you are done, you can start Eclipse and access the software update mechanism via Help > Software Updates (see Figure 1). If you have not Ganymede Discovery site, please enter the correct Ganymede update site information. After you connect to the Ganymede update site, you should see a list of available features in the Ganymede release series. It's so simple! Once connected, you can choose the features you want to install into your Eclipse.
