The Process Engine service and management module is described as follows:

The process engine provides software services for managing all aspects of a business process (also called a workflow), such as process execution, process routing, rule management, process simulation and modeling management, and workflow analysis. The process engine module allows you to create, modify, and manage workflows implemented by applications, enterprise users, or external users (such as partners and customers. The main services of the Process Engine include:

1. Rule wizard (rules Daemon)

Controls workflow operations based on a set of defined rules. Use by program designers or business analysts

Use ilog jrules rules to create software (third-party applications purchased separately from the process engine), create business rules, and link the rules with the steps of the workflow. When a running workflow encounters a rule, the process engine sends the request to the rule wizard. The latter runs the rules in the Rule group and reports the results to the process engine.

2. Email Notification)

When a specified process event occurs, an email is automatically sent to the user. Email Notification can also be used for workflow tracking.

3. Shared Process Manager (PPM ))

Provides the connection between the flow router and the flow engine on the application engine or webserver.

4. Process Service)

Provides workflow services on behalf of the Process Engine.

5. Process Task Manager)

Run on the application engine, process engine, process simulator, and process analyzer to provide management tools for various software functions (such as process service and Process Simulator) of the filenet P8 platform. For example, Process Task Management provides various tools for starting and stopping services and defining routes.

6. Process analyzer Connector)

Provides the Connection Service to specify the data path from the process engine to the process analyzer. This connector collects data about the process execution and inputs the process analysis software.
