Introduction to the new cluster technology enFuzion

TurboLinux, a world-renowned Linux developer and distributor, recently released its new enFuzion cluster technology in the United States, this technology can change an enterprise's existing network consisting of Linux, Unix, and Windows servers and workstations to a supercomputer. This is another major breakthrough in Linux cluster technology after the TurboCluster server product released last year. It will provide cheaper super computing solutions for enterprise users, it also shows the powerful vitality and competitiveness of Linux. It is understood that the technology will soon be available in the Chinese market.

EnFuzion is generally used for modeling of complex problems, from asset risk management of investment banks to determining gene sequences of biological companies. It enables users to utilize the processing capabilities of existing servers and workstations without investing in dedicated systems or expensive supercomputers. In addition, enFuzion supports clusters with hundreds of nodes and Linux, Solaris, Windows NT, HP-UX, ibm aix, SGI Irix, and Tru64 platforms, the idle CPU time can be used to run on deployed workstations and servers, and can run with existing applications without modification, thus increasing the application computing speed by more than 100 times. This technology can also automatically reschedule failed tasks to implement node fault tolerance, automatic load balancing, and resource sharing.

EnFuzion is different from Beowulf Linux clusters in many aspects. EnFuzion can run both on Linux and all major Unix platforms and Microsoft Windows NT, and can run multiple serial applications without any modifications, this greatly simplifies the migration from a single system computing environment to a highly scalable, distributed parallel processing computing environment. Currently, enFuzion has been deployed in important production bases including JP Morgan, AMP Asset Management, Rockefeller University, and Synchro ton Radiation Facility in Europe. In addition, this enFuzion cluster technology was demonstrated at the Hong Kong LinuxWorld Conference recently and received wide attention and strong repercussions.
