Wireless products put forward the concept of WAP. The point of this standard is to display Internet content on wireless devices. WAP refers to wireless Application protocol WAP is an application communication protocol WAP is used to access services and information WAP inherits from Internet standard WAP for handheld devices such as mobile phones WAP is a protocol for micro-browser design WAP makes it possible to create Web applications for mobile devices WA P uses markup Language WML (not HTML) WAP as an application of XML 1.0 defined Wireless Application protocol (Wireless application Protocol)
WAP is a major standard for information services in wireless terminals, such as digital mobile phones.
WAP standards are based on Internet standards (HTML, XML, and TCP/IP). It includes the WML language specification, the WMLSCRIPT specification, and the Radiotelephone Application Interface Specification (Wtai).
WAP was released by WAP Forum (WAP forum) and was founded in 1997 by Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia and Unwired Planet. The Forum's members currently account for more than 90% of the global mobile phone market, as well as leading infrastructure providers, software providers, and other institutions. You can find more information about the WAP forum on our WAP forum page. WAP Micro-Browser
WAP uses a micro-browser to fit a small wireless terminal.
Micro-Browser is a small software that can release basic instructions to hardware, memory, and CPUs. It can display information written in a restricted markup language called WML.
Micro-browsers can also translate a JavaScript simplified version called WMLScript. What is WML?
WML refers to the wireless markup language. It is a markup language inherited from HTML, but WML is based on XML, so it is more restrictive than HTML.
WML is used to create pages that can be displayed in a WAP browser. Pages written in WML are called decks. Decks is constructed as a set of CARDS. What is WMLScript?
WML uses WMLScript to run simple code on the client. WMLScript is a lightweight JavaScript language. However, WML scripts are not embedded in WML pages. A WML page contains only references to script URLs. WML scripts need to be compiled into byte encoding on the server before the WAP browser is run.
