NVR is a host device that centrally controls and manages IPC (network camera). The camera uploads the monitored audio and video information to NVR for unified storage and forwarding. As a centralized controller, NVR supports monitoring, video recording, playback, camera control, and alarm.
This paper introduces the method of using TP-LINK NVR to centrally manage and configure TP-LINK network camera.
NVR does not provide a hard disk. If you want to use NVR for video recording, you must first install the hard disk. Calculate the total storage capacity required by an NVR instance based on the video requirements (video type and video data storage time), and select a hard disk that meets the requirements.
How many hard disks are suitable for installation?
Connect NVR to the display screen. The IPC and NVR are connected to the same LAN through the network cable to ensure that each device is in the same network segment. As shown in the following figure:
Note:NVR supports connecting the display screen through VGA or HDMI cables.
NVR supports GUI management (direct connection to the display screen) or computer browser interface management. This document uses GUI management as an example to describe how to configure NVR.
NVR connects the display to enter the NVR login interface. For the first time, you need to set the NVR management password. To protect enterprise data and network security, we recommend that you set a high-strength password that complies with security specifications. As shown in the following figure:
Note:To improve security, the password must be 6-32 characters long and preferably a combination of numbers, letters, and symbols.
After setting the management password, go to the management page and set the network connection, time, and IPC through the setup wizard.
1
, Set network connection
Set NVR network parameters as needed, and click
Next Step.
Note:If you have multiple NVR instances in your network, modify the nvr ip address to prevent IP address conflict.
2
Time and date settings
Set the NVR system time. We recommend that you keep the default value and click
Next Step.
3
, Add
IPC
NVR automatically searches for the IPC in the LAN. After the IPC is found, click
Add, As shown in the following figure:
If the IPC has been activated, enter the user name and password of the IPC to add it. If the IPC is in the factory status, you must set the management password on this interface to add it. IPC can use the same logon password as NVR, or set a new password. As shown in the following figure:
If it appears, the IPC is successfully added. Add IPC one by one to ensure that all devices are successfully added, as shown below:
Click
CompleteTo complete the setup wizard. You can see the monitoring screen:
Now, the IPC has been added, and the monitoring is running properly. Right click to bring up the menu, as shown in the following figure:
To facilitate management, we recommend that you change the IPC name to a common name. Click
Main menuAnd click
Set, The following interface is displayed.
Camera settings
>
Channel access, Click
Edit.
You can use the IP address to determine the IPC and set a name for ease of management:
The settings are as follows:
Now, all NVR settings are complete. You can set NVR parameters or related IPC parameters on this interface.
