Iptables about Ping in Linux

Allow other machines to ping through firewalls

Iptables-a input-p ICMP--icmp-type echo-request-j ACCEPT

Iptables-a output-p ICMP--icmp-type echo-reply-j ACCEPT

The following is the setting of the firewall native ping other machine can ping the IP

Iptables–a input–p ICMP--icmp-type echo-reply–j ACCEPT
Iptables–a output–p ICMP--icmp-type echo-request–j ACCEPT

Can ping loopback address

Iptables-a input-i lo-p all-j ACCEPT
Iptables–a output–o lo–p all–j ACCEPT

Can ping the domain name

Iptables-a input-p UDP--sport 53-j ACCEPT
