Pre-Preparation:
1. Server System: Dell M630 Windows R2 operating system (activated, NIC driver on)
assigning ip:192.168.60.233
2. Storage array: Dell Md3800i (capacity 6tx10,raid card x2, management port x2)
Business port Assignment ip:192.168.60.238 and 192.168.60.239
Management Port ip:192.168.129.101 and 192.168.129.102
3. Use modular disk Storage Manager to RAID 6 on the storage array. (two spare disks.) )
4, the server can ping the storage array business port IP.
6, the management port IP can also ping through.
Operation:
The first step is to configure the "iSCSI Target" on the server
1. Enter the server System "Administrative Tools" window and open the "ISCSI initiator" on the dual machine
2. In the ISCSI Initiator Properties window, the Discovery page, click Discovery Portal, enter the business port for the storage array in the IP address or DNS Name dialog box ip:192.168.60.238, and click OK.
3. In the ISCSI Initiator Properties window, on the target page, in the discovered Targets dialog box, the discovered targets are visible. If the name of the target is a string beginning with iqn.1991-05.com, the status is not connected
4. In the ISCSI Initiator Properties window, on the target page, in the discovered Targets dialog box, select the discovered target, click "Connect", the default is check "system restart automatic connection target", and then click "OK", then the status of the target has been found to "connected."
The second step is to log modular disk Storage Manager via the storage array's management port ip:192.168.129.101 and map the virtual disks to the server
1, enter the user name and password in the login page, enter the modular disk Storage Manager management interface.
2, on the "Devices" page, right-click the root selection of the tree structure to automatically scan the discovery of online storage arrays, such as md3800i, while ensuring that the device status is normal.
3, dual-machine md3800i, Load md3800i configuration page, need to wait for the page to load successfully.
4, on the "Mappings" page, right-click on the default group to add the host, map the way to select iSCSI, the operating system select Windows, associate the target added in the first step, and assign a unique identifier to the newly added host, such as Ceshi.
5. In the "Physical" interface, right-click on the unallocated virtual disk space to create a new virtual disk of the required space, such as 30T, and assign a unique identifier to the new virtual disk, such as test.
6. On the Mappings page, right-click on the newly added Ceshi host to associate the new virtual disk test.
The third step, enter the Server System Disk Management window, visible iSCSI mapping successful virtual disk, such as 30T of unallocated space. Initialize the formatted partition to use. If you do not see it, you can right-click on Disk Management and select the "New Scan Disk" command to brush several times.
