GOAL
What does the ' Sync items ' option for item import do?
When running the Import items program, the last parameter have a prompt "Create or Update items"
1 is create, 2 is update, and 3 is "Sync Items". What does option 3 mean?
Solution
You can use the ' SYNC ' transaction type to create the item, if the item does not exist, OR update the item, if the item ex Ists.
Example
Created the item. Since it did not exist
INSERT INTO Mtl_system_items_interface
(Process_flag, set_process_id, Transaction_type,organization_id,segment1, Description,template_name)
Values
("SYNC", 204, ' Sync_item ', ' Testing through the interface ', ' finished good ');
Update the TRANSACTABLE flag since the item already existed.
INSERT INTO Mtl_system_items_interface
(Process_flag, set_process_id, Transaction_type,organization_id,segment1,description,mtl_transactions_enabled_ FLAG)
Values
("SYNC", 204, ' Sync_item ', ' Testing through the interface ', ' N ');
Note:in Oracle Inventory, Item Import does not process records with
Transaction type ' SYNC ' when import was run with null process set.
When using SYNC, always populate the process set in the Import Items parameters.
This issue is a fixed in Incoin.opp 120.1
