In addition, I tried to install it in the VirtualBox, but it was not successful. It turns out that this is a known issue between VirtualBox and ora 14's second beta. However, this problem can be solved. I remotely connected to the X server of Fedora by using virtual network computing (VNC), and successfully installed Fedora 14 on the VirtualBox Virtual Machine (VM ). But I can understand why so many people want to run Fedora 14 directly on vitualbox. I want to add that I have enabled Fedora14 to run on Virtual Machine Software.

Any platform, once installed with Fedora 14, can basically run well. I added the qualifier "basically" because I did encounter a series of small but annoying problems.

Fedora Success and Failure

The desktop of Fedora 14 is GNOME's latest release version GNOME2.32. Compared with Ubuntu, GNOME was only recently used, while GNOME was always used in Fedora 14. This complete release also includes the latest version of desktop KDE4.5.2, but I would think it would be incredible if I met a Fedora user using KDE. Because GNOME has long been the preferred Desktop System for Fedora users.

I think the blue-themed GNOME desktop of Fedora 14 is very interesting. On it, you can find the Linux desktop program that you normally use. These programs include web browsing Firefox, instant messaging Empathy, email and group Software Evolution, and office software Openoffice. Looking forward to the future, the Fedora team has not yet promised to switch to OpenOffice fork and LibreOffice. In the future, its default Office suite will become the next version of Ubuntu.

There are two new applications that I prefer. One is Clementine, which is an easy-to-use music playing manager. The other is GnomeGmail, which is a GmailGNOME Desktop client.

These are all good aspects of Fedora 14. However, there are many shortcomings. For example, I found that when I use the GNOME File Manager Nautilus to browse the directory of large files, I will hang up for a while. This is not a good concept of time for me. I encountered this problem on all the PCs and virtual machines I tried, and I have not found a solution yet.

Although GNOME's CD burning program Brasero is better than me. But whenever I use it, it will crash and will not record information on any CD or DVD. There is a solution to this problem, but this problem will not have a great impact on the software tests that follow me.

Last one, but it is the most important one I have stated. Once I install Fedora, I always encounter some problems when updating the latest patch. After some patches in the Fedora 14 software repository, I have been able to smoothly update the patches.

Although I have not encountered this problem, I still need to point out that my friends who have a USB port computer discovered that they cannot use their USB ports. This also confirms a known error, but there is no permanent solution within this range. However, to avoid the problem of suspending the computer, you can use the following commands in the root directory of the terminal to avoid the problem:

Options xhci-hcd enable = 1 ">/etc/modprobe. d/xhci. conf

It may not be a good solution, but it is one of the methods.
