1. SIM card Status

Each device has a status that determines whether it can establish a data connection on the network and affects whether the device is billed. Shows a typical device life cycle. You can transition a device from one state to another, subject to certain restrictions.

The services that are available to the device in each state are controlled by the communication profile that is associated with the device's communication plan. Control Center applies the "Off" communication profile to the inactive device, and the "open" communication profile to the active device.

The following table describes the typical connection and billing behavior for each SIM card status. Typically, a device is billed only when it is in an activated state. However, contractual commitments may specify that the enterprise needs to pay for the minimum number of devices, regardless of whether the devices are active. In addition, some States are controlled by the account, some are controlled by the operator (*), and some are controlled by control Center (* *).

SIM card Status	Description
Global Transfer * *	The SIM card will become a global transfer state when the operator transfers pending processing . In this state, the SIM card is billed only in the primary carrier. For more information, see Global SIM card.
Can be tested *	testable state allows devices to be established Data connections and free use of certain communication services. The SIM card in this state is in a non-billable state. expired	The failed state does not allow the device to establish a data connection. A device that is in this state is typically not considered for billing unless a certain commitment is applied. Typically, the
Replaced *	in some cases, You may need to replace a SIM card with another SIM card. The new SIM card will inherit information from the original SIM card, and the original SIM card will become
Cleared *	The cleared state does not allow the device to establish a data connection. A device that has been cleared has been physically removed by the carrier from the network, usually as a response to a customer request or as part of a SIM replacement policy. Contact your carrier to learn about the policy of turning the device into a cleared state.

inventory	Inventory status does not allow the device to establish data Connection. Typically, you are not billed for devices that are in the deactivated devices have been deployed but are temporarily inactive.
Trial * *	The trial SIM card is received with the starter kit for use during the Control Center product evaluation. Devices that contain trial SIM cards have a network connection but are not considered chargeable.
