Joomla exposed SQL injection vulnerability affecting millions of websites

Joomla released a patch to fix an SQL injection vulnerability discovered by security researchers. This vulnerability allows malicious users to extract the browser cookies allocated to the website administrator and obtain access permissions for restricted part of the server. The vulnerability first appeared in Joomla November 2013 released in 3.2. The Joomla team and security researchers recommended that users update the vulnerability to 3.4.5 immediately. Joomla has been downloaded for more than 50 million times, and 2.8 million websites rely on Joomla to manage content.
